Grit City is where the Gritlands becomes the full version of itself. The dense downtown stretch called The Row runs through the heart of it — neon signs over grime-stained concrete, businesses stacked on top of each other, NPCs with actual schedules, and a skyline dominated by Grit Tower. Everything you’ve built toward since the lakeside campground finds its full expression here: a real career, trainable stats, a bank account with your name on it, and a marketplace where the live economy plays out in real time. The suburbs were where you learned. The city is where you operate.

What’s new here

Jobs

Take on steady CASH work at the warehouse, as a courier, or in a kitchen. Jobs give you reliable income between gathering and trading sessions and are the fastest way to stabilize your finances when you first arrive. Read more about jobs →

Stat Training

Grit City has dedicated training facilities for every core stat. Hit the gym to build Strength, enroll at the college to raise Smarts, and spend time at the bar working your Charm. Higher stats open better jobs, better fight outcomes, and better dialogue options across the whole game.

The Bank

Your stash grows up in Grit City. The bank replaces the tent crate and the rented flat’s lockbox with a proper vault — more slots, better security, and the infrastructure you need to start accumulating real wealth rather than just managing inventory.

The GritBay Hub

The physical face of the GritBay marketplace sits on The Row with a large board of live prices visible from the street. Buy and sell directly here, check what the economy is doing, and start learning which goods are worth hauling up from the Drains on any given day.

The full customization row

Millside gave you a thrift store and a basic barber. Grit City gives you the full treatment. Inkwell Tattoo handles body art with a deep catalogue of placements and designs. The Fit is the city’s flagship fashion store, stocking everything from sharp tailoring to streetwear. The Chair is the top-tier salon for cuts, color, and styling. Goldie’s covers jewellery, chains, and watches for every budget. Round the corner from The Row you’ll also find a vehicle lot — when you’re ready for wheels, that’s where you go. Every service the game offers for self-expression is within a short walk of each other here.

The casino

The Meridian sits at the east end of The Row, a faded-glamour venue with the bones of somewhere that used to matter. Inside you’ll find slot machines and table games, all played in CASH. The Meridian is a legitimate part of the city’s social scene and a fun way to burn some of your surplus — go in with a figure you’re comfortable losing and treat winnings as a bonus. The house has a mathematical edge on every game. Chips are only valid at the tables and can’t be spent or traded elsewhere.

Owned property and the tower

Grit City is where you stop renting and start owning. Real estate here puts your name on a deed — a walk-in wardrobe, home crafting stations you can upgrade over time, and a permanent address that scales with your wealth. At the top of the property ladder, dominating the skyline on the north end of The Row, stands Grit Tower. The penthouse at its summit is the game’s ultimate milestone, visible from every outdoor space in the Gritlands. You can walk into the tower lobby from your first day in the city, ride the elevator display, and get a feel for what you’re working toward. Getting the keys to the top floor is another matter entirely.
The lobby of Grit Tower is open to everyone from day one — walk in, look around, and take the lobby elevator to the observation floor. You don’t need property, wealth, or any particular stat to enter. The game wants you to see the finish line up close. Getting past the penthouse floor’s private elevator is the challenge that will define your entire Gritlands career.

The Deep Drains

Beneath Grit City lies the deep end of the underground — full open PvP, the best loot in the Gritlands, and tombstone rules where anything you’re carrying is fair game if you go down. The Deep Drains are locked until you’re a capable fighter, and they stay locked for good reason. When you’re ready, the entrance is right beneath your feet.
