# Gritlands Wiki: Survive, Trade, and Climb to the Top

> Welcome to the Gritlands wiki — your complete guide to gathering, trading, fighting, and clawing your way from a tent to the penthouse.

You arrived with a duffel bag and nothing else. That's exactly where everyone starts in Gritlands — a gritty online life-sim and survival-trading game where you claw your way up from the rural edge of a broken city to the very top of its skyline. Fish the lake, chop the timber, mine the rock, craft what you need, trade what you don't, and fight for the rest. Out here, stuff is money, every rung you climb is visible to every other player, and the penthouse in Grit Tower has your name on it — if you're willing to earn it.

## The five-step climb

Every player makes the same journey — from a tarp pinned to the dirt at Grit Lake all the way up to a penthouse in Grit Tower. Here's the shape of that road.

    Your Uncle Roger sets you up with a tent, a fishing rod, and an axe. This is your home base while you learn to gather, cook, trade, and fight. Don't be in a hurry to leave — the lake is the only safe zone you'll have.

  <Step title="Gather, Craft, and Trade">
    Everything you pull out of the world — fish, timber, ore, scrap — can be sold raw, cooked into food, or crafted into something worth far more. Your first CASH comes from Sal's general store; everything after that is up to you.

    Turn CASH into better gear and better housing. Go from a tent at the lake to a rented apartment in Millside, then to property you own in Grit City. The skyline you see from the dock is where you're headed.

    The Drains run beneath the entire map and hold the best loot in the game. They're also the only place where other players can take what you're carrying. Learn the risk, know your exits, and push your luck wisely.
